Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning
The Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning (PGCRL) at SickKids is a 21-storey building in Toronto’s Discovery District where SickKids researchers and trainees work and collaborate on projects to transform child health.
There are no patient care appointments in this building.
Learning Concourse and SickKids Conference Centre
The first three levels of the PGCRL offer state-of-the art meeting, learning and collaboration space for SickKids staff, community partners and event attendees.
686 Bay Street
- Hours: Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- 24/7 access with SickKids ID badge
- Accessible entrances
- Visitors should check in with Protection Services upon arrival
- City street parking and public lots are available close by, but read the signs carefully
- The PGCRL parking garage is staff only and is not available for public parking

Getting to the PGCRL using public transit
Subways and streetcars on the TTC
Subway:
The PGCRL is located on Line 1 (Yonge line) northbound toward Finch.
Closest subway stations:
- College Station: (not accessible): walk on College Street and turn left on Bay Street.
- TMU Station: walk towards Trinity Square and turn right onto Bay Street.
Please note that College Station is not an accessible station. Learn more about easier access on the TTC.
Streetcar:
You can either take the 505 Dundas or 506 Carlton streetcars which stops at Bay street.

GO Transit
The PGCRL building is a short subway ride from Union Station, GO Transit’s main hub.
- Enter the subway at Union Station
- Travel north on Line 1 (Yonge)
- You can exit at either TMU Station or College Station (not accessible)
- Then walk on Bay Street or take the taxi or ride-share to 686 Bay Street.

UP Express
UP Express is a train service that connects Toronto Pearson International Airport with Union Station in downtown Toronto.
- Take the UP Express to Union Station.
- Trains run frequently and the trip takes about 25 minutes from the airport.
- From Union Station, you can continue to the PGCRL by TTC subway (Line 1 Yonge) to TMU station or College Station(not accessible) then walk on Bay Street towards 686 Bay Street.
For events, administrative and support services. There are no patient care appointments in this building.
